Fancy shell shapes might deter predators of land snails

From PeerJ, the open access journal I mentioned a while back.

Association between shell morphology of micro-land snails (genus Plectostoma) and their predator’s predatory behaviour

This has been studied in marine snails, esp. the arms race between snails and snail-eating crabs (shell thickness and reinforcement vs claw size and technique), but not so much in land snails. Interesting work. Plus there are neat pictures.
