SAMSUNG is hoping to win over the hearts, minds and wallets of budding Australian photographers with a combination of speed and an extra dimension.
The Korean technology company today launched its new compact system camera, the 20.3 megapixel NX300, which will let people take family happy snaps and holiday videos in 3D.
And to emphasise the speed of the camera, which can autofocus in 0.8 seconds, shoot 8.6 full-resolution images a second and has a top shutter speed of 1/6000th of a second, Samsung have signed up Usain Bolt, the world's fastest man, as the camera's ambassador in a marketing campaign.
The camera comes with a 18-55 zoom lens for $899 but the range of optional lenses include the NX 45mm F1.8 ($499) which Samsung calls the world's first one-lens 3D system capable of capturing both still images and full HD movies."
The lens functions as a standard 45mm lens until you flick a switch, engaging a second prism within the lens. The two lens combine to produce the 3D images which can be viewed using 3D glasses.Samsung launches 20.3 megapixel NX300 which lets you take photos and videos in 3D
